As a part of its deal with ViacomCBS in January this year, Hulu announced to add nine new live TV channels to its Hulu with a Live TV package. The subscription stands at the same $64.99 a month for this package, but with few added channels. Also, there are five more channels from ViacomCBS provided under a special Hulu Entertainment add-on package for $7.99 a month.
Hulu Adds New Live TV Channels
Apart from Netflix and Amazon Prime, netizens of the US also love Hulu as it houses hit shows and movies. The OTT platform has already announced its 2021 summer lineup and is now adding nine new Live TV channels from ViacomCBS. This is as per the deal that Hulu made with ViacomCBS in January and includes;
BET, TV Land, Comedy Central, Nickelodeon, Paramount Network, MTV, Nick Jr, VH1, and CMT. These are added for free to the Hulu with Live TV package, as the subscription cost remained at $64.99 a month. Users can also get access to the on-demand content from these Live TVs.
Besides these nine Live TV channels, Hulu has also brought BET Her, MTV2, NickToons, TeenNick, and MTV Classic from ViacomCBS under the Hulu Entertainment add-on package for an additional price of $7.99 a month.
Announcing this move, the President of ViacomCBS’ US Networks Distribution, Ray Hopkins, said, “We are excited to have reached an expanded agreement with Hulu that underscores the value of our powerful portfolio of brands to next-generation TV platforms and viewers.”
This step from Hulu is so helpful for users, as most of the OTT platforms are drained of new stuff due to last year’s pandemic. As the production houses are slowly restarting, Hulu may entertain their users with the new Live TV stuff until some originals are produced.
